The Conditioned Air office building is an award-winning, 6,500 square-foot, three-story office design which was intended to serve as an addition to an existing warehouse on the same site. The client’s goals involved creating an office building that projected an identifiable and strong corporate image.
In order to become more prominent while resolving site circulation and parking challenges, the new building was located forward of the perceived “street wall” created by adjacent buildings, and offset away from the existing warehouse.
The building’s full exposure on all four sides allows interior spaces to make maximum use of natural light. The site location also allows exterior facades to take on the primary goal of establishing a corporate image. Each of the building’s corners has a defining element, while materials vary between three types of metal panels and large areas of glass to maintain visual interest.
